Spring Has Sprung!

Spring has finally arrived, and we all know that means... SPRING CLEANING TIME! For some of us that means cleaning out clutter and swapping our winter clothes for spring/summer clothes, but for the other portion of us, that means change when it comes to our homes. Light and bright colors tend to make an appearance around this time of year and spring decor makes its way in as well.

You may be asking yourself, "how I decorate for spring?" because there is really no set standard when it comes to decorating for the springtime, but what I will do is tell you ways on how to spruce up for spring!

  1. Get a fresh new coat of paint on your front door.

  2. Replace all the bulbs in your house with LED lights to save money and lower power bills.

  3. Add some plants or flowers to brighten up space around your home.

  4. Make sure you have enough outdoor seating for everyone who will be visiting this spring and summer, including an outdoor rug for more space outside.

  5. Clean out clutter from inside and outside of your home – it’s time to make way for things that are useful!

  6. Change out old clothes, shoes, books, etc., with something new so you can feel refreshed and ready for spring!

Nothing says spring like florals!

La-Z-Boy has brought new florals into our lineup, and we are loving the bright, vibrant colors!

The fabric shown above is available in three colorways, a neutral, blue, and gray. This is one of my favorite new fabrics in our lineup!

With spring comes Easter, and Easter means Easter decor. There are many ways to decorate for spring and the Easer holiday, but this article by Holly Walsh from Ideal Home has some great ideas and 27 ways to fill your home with the joys of spring! Check out her article down below by clicking the link.

The article above touches on pastel colors for the spring time, and nothing says spring like a good pastel color palette. Here are some different color palettes for some inspiration!

Incorporating fun colors is something I always recommend when trying to make a statement. A bold color brings a wow factor into a home, and if you decide you don't like it...the good thing is you can always paint over it!

While we're still on the topic of floral and botanical elements, I might as well touch on floral arrangements! Floral arrangements are beautiful and add a touch of elegance to any space, plus it's perfect for spring. I will show you how to create the perfect floral arrangement!

  1. Decide on a flower arrangement design. One way to guide your arrangement is to decide on a color scheme before shopping for flowers.

  2. Cut and prepare flowers. After arriving home with your flowers, you might be tempted to begin arranging right away.

  3. Choose a vessel. When selecting a vase or other container for your arrangement, consider the type of flowers you're using.

  4. Prepare your flower vase. The most important flower arrangement technique doesn't actually involve the flowers—it's all about the vessel you put them in.

  5. Create a base with greenery. The best way to arrange flowers is to start with greenery as a base.

  6. Add focal flowers. Focal flowers are usually the largest blooms or those with an unusual color or texture.

  7. Add filler flowers. Add smaller flowers and textural elements in the arrangement to fill around the focal flowers.

  8. Finish your flower arrangement. Finish the design with floaters or delicate blooms like baby's breath, sedum, or yarrow.

Check out this link down below for a step by step video in creating your perfect floral arrangement.

Here is where you should be placing your floral arrangements in your home:
